HarvestValue
SDG 1 — No Poverty
An innovation project focused on retaining the value of farm produce and strengthening sustainable household income.

Smallholder farming households most times struggle to earn enough income from their farm produce or harvests due to post-harvest losses, inadequate preservation options, and pressure to sell immediately after harvest when prices may be low. This project tends to investigate how these challenges affect farmers’ ability to retain the economic value of their produce and generate sustainable household income. Using human-centred research, the study will identify the root causes of distress selling and reduced income, will guide the development of a practical, scalable, and commercially viable innovation that strengthens farmer income, financial resilience, and contributes to SDG 1: No Poverty.
